JOB DESCRIPTION
Assists in review of Corporate Operational Contracts and coordinates with Operational and Legal personnel for mitigation and internal control of risk exposures. Ensures that contract provisions conform to the underlying, fundamental insuring requirements established by wholly-owned captive, Beacon Insurance Company, and/or its reinsurers. Reports to Director, Risk Management and is responsible for making recommendations and decisions relating to negotiation and acceptance of operational contracts, with primary focus on review of insurance and indemnity provisions in those contracts. Coordinates with operational project managers and other BU contract owners, and may interact regularly with contract principals' Legal and/or Risk counterparts. In some situations, provides alternative contract language and/or recommendations that necessitate special insurance placements that are outside of the existing program, but which will foster growth opportunities for the Corporation. May be required to report directly to V.P. Risk Management in these situations, but in all cases works in a collaborative fashion with Operations personal, Legal, and Insurance Administration team members to protect the assets of the Corporation by eliminating or mitigating the possibility of uninsured or catastrophic loss.

Requirements |
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Minimum of 5-10 years in General Risk Management or alternatively as Marine Insurance Broker or Underwriter. Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and advanced P/C skills as well as excellent analytical skills in the area of insurance and contract review, required. May perform limited travel outside office at operational facilities. Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Requires the ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, risk management or equivalent experience. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation preferred.
